Amanda Bye

Cat 3 Road, Cat 3 Cross, Cyclocross Captain

Amanda discovered cycling in 2011 and was immediately drawn to the innate competition and team approach of the sport. Professionally she works for Kaiser Permanente as a psychologist. This allows her to give to the community and individual people daily while still having time for her own health and balanced life. In the winter months, she is an avid snowboarder and spends every weekend perfecting skills on the hill and in the park. She is eager to learn new skills, ride with a strong, supportive team and become an all around better rider. She gives her all in everything that she does and thus watch for improvements over the year, they are coming.

Personal Goal: “Proudly support women’s cycling and make the necessary improvements to become a strong rider in both mountain biking and cyclocross.”

Rollers or trainer? Trainer (but outside most preferred)
Bibs or shorts? Bibs
Skinsuit or kit? Skinsuit! Are you kidding? I would sleep in my skinsuit if I could. Keep in mind that chamois time is training time and there is nothing more comfortable than a skinsuit. It is a good probability that I am wearing it while typing this.
Water or drink mix? Water most preferred, but Skratch drink mix when there is a need for electrolytes.
Favorite mid-ride nutrition: Bobo bars, I think they redefine bike foot. Yum, yum.
Place I would most want to ride a bike…..France for road and Belgium for cross
When I am not riding a bike I…..spend time with friends and family, as well as laugh in abundance.
