What motivates you to ride? Knowing that when I return home, no matter how my ride went, I will be stronger. Whether that’s physically or mentally. It’s not just gaining strength for me, it’s about centering myself so that when I return to all my responsibilities in life, I am able to give my very best.
What racing obstacle have you overcome? Riding on anything that is not asphalt! In the past, I have been terrified of any loose surface that could possibly cause me to fall off my bike and crash. Now, I’m racing in sand, mud, gravel, grass, etc. and don’t carry that fear with me. It’s wonderful!
Favorite Part of Racing: Cherring for and worknig with my team mates.
If you could ride your bike anywhere, where would it be? Any climb with at least 5,000 ft elevation gain. Especially here in Colorado.
What are you most proud of in your cycling career? Winning that State Road Race Championship in 2014.
Ten years ago I started riding a spin bike to help with weight loss. Over the course of one year, I was able to lose 90 lbs with changing my diet and exercise. I became so passionate about riding the bike that I got my certificate and started teaching spin classes. I was finally able to purchase my first road bike and I have never looked back. It was only 2 years after I started riding outside that I ventured into racing. Now going into my 7th year of racing road, I am stepping outside of my box and trying cyclocross. Should be a fun year ahead! Outside of being on 2 wheels, I’m also a wife, mom of 2 adventurous kids, bodybuilder, and a Physical Therapist Assistant.
