MTB Team – Cat 1 – Co-Founder
Hometown: Denver, CO
Strengths: Don’t like to quit and don’t give up easily.
Favorite Race: hmmmm – probably the Tipperary Creek Race in Winter Park
Years Racing: 20
What motivates you to ride? At this point I’m motivated to stay as active and fit as I can so that I can try and keep up with my son as he gets stronger.
What racing obstacle have you overcome? Continuing to race as I get older and my fitness isn’t where it used to be.
Favorite Part of Racing: The gratification of finishing a race, regardless of how it went. There are so many people who aren’t able to do it and I consider myself lucky to be able to do it.
If you could ride your bike anywhere, where would it be? Italy, of course, food and wine would be an important part of it.
What are you most proud of in your cycling career? Helping start a fantastic team of women who can’t be stopped.
What is your favorite post ride meal? Anything that I don’t have to cook myself.
What is your superpower? Adaptability.
I did my first moutain bike race over 20 years ago and can’t believe all of the experiences I have had thanks to the bike.
Cycling has taken me places I would never have gone, shown me things I would have never seen and introduced me to people that I would have never otherwise met. It has shown me my weaknesses and my strengths, most of which I never knew existed. It has been a developmental platform for me in all aspects of my life from finishing a tough stage race to advancing in my career.
Seeing all the women on our team who juggle training, work, family and giving back to the community, is something that never ceases to amaze me. I’m super proud to be a part of this amazing group of people.
