Cyclocross Team – Cat 3 – Co-Captain
Hometown: Military brat, no hometown.
Strengths: Smiling during racing when I know there is a camera nearby and the most chamois time without actually training, also making other people laugh.
Favorite Race: Interlocken CX and Koppenburg for road
Years Racing: 7
What motivates you to ride? Being part of a community and staying fit. I especially love riding in the snow.
What racing obstacle have you overcome? Fear – being nervous to line up with others, fear of not being fit enough, not training enough, fear of crashing, fear of layering too much/too little. fear of doing well, and having more expectations, fear that my costume is not on-point, etc.
Favorite Part of Racing: Laughing with others and challenging myself to try something new – like bunny hopping obstacles
If you could ride your bike anywhere, where would it be? Belgium for cross and Switzerland or France for road. .
What are you most proud of in your cycling career? Bringing more ladies to the dark side AKA CX and keeping it fun.
What is your favorite post ride meal? I absolutely love food, so pretty much anything that is gluten free.
What is your superpower? Heckling when I think I can’t even breathe during a race.
I discovered cycling in 2011 and was immediately drawn to the innate competition and team approach of the sport. Professionally, I work for Kaiser Permanente as a psychologist. This allows me to give to the community and individual people daily while still having time for my own health and balanced life. In the winter months, I am an avid snowboarder and spend every weekend perfecting skills on the hill and in the park.
I am eager to learn new skills, ride with a strong, supportive team and become an all around better rider. I give my all in everything that I do, and thus watch for improvements over the year, they are coming.
